Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pathfinder collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit pathfinderthewayout.com, take our quiz, join our email list, purchase a course or module, or participate in our community (together, the "Services").
We know that some of what people share with us, about abusive relationships, health conditions, or where they are in their healing, is deeply personal. This policy is written to be genuinely read, not just published, and we try to treat your information with the same care we'd want shown to our own.

1. Who Controls Your Data
The data controller responsible for your personal data is Pathfinder the way out, 201 rte de Razac D'Eymet, Fonroque, 24500, France ("Pathfinder", "we", "us"). You can contact us about privacy matters at [email protected].
2. What Personal Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
| Data category | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account & registration data | Name, email address, password, country | To create and manage your account, and to grant access to courses and community |
| Purchase & payment data | Purchase history, billing address, payment status (card details are handled directly by Kajabi's payment processor, Stripe/PayPal, and are not stored by us) | To process orders, referral rewards and refunds, and to meet accounting obligations |
| Course & community activity | Module progress, quiz answers, posts and comments, direct messages within the platform | To deliver course content in the right order and to run community spaces |
| Special category data (see Section 3) | Information you choose to share about health conditions, experiences of abuse, or mental health, e.g. in the quiz, community posts, or specialist-stream sign-up | To route you to the right support stream and personalise your experience, only with your explicit consent |
| Marketing & communications data | Email engagement, preferences, referral activity | To send course updates, sequence emails and (where you've opted in) marketing, and to run the referral programme |
| Technical & usage data | IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, referral source, cookie identifiers | To keep the site secure, understand how it's used, and measure marketing performance |
3. Special Category Data: Extra Care
Some information you may share with us, for example that you're a survivor of abuse, that you're managing a chronic health condition, or details disclosed in community posts or coaching sessions, counts as "special category data" under UK and EU data protection law. This kind of data gets extra legal protection because of how sensitive it is.
- We only collect and use special category data where you have actively and knowingly shared it with us (for example, by choosing a specialist stream, answering the quiz, or posting in community), which we treat as your explicit consent under Article 9 GDPR.
- We do not use this information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
- You can withdraw this consent and ask us to delete this data at any time. See Section 9 (Your Rights).
- Content posted inside community spaces may be visible to other members of that space; please bear this in mind before sharing identifying details about yourself or others. See Section 7.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We (and our Kajabi platform, which hosts the Website) use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: required for login, checkout and core site functionality (set by Kajabi).
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site and improve it.
- Advertising cookies: Facebook/Meta Pixel, to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram ads and to build tailored audiences for future campaigns.
Where required by law, we will ask for your consent to non-essential cookies via a cookie banner when you first visit the site, and you can change your preferences at any time through that banner or your browser settings. Turning off analytics or advertising cookies won't affect your ability to use the Services, but it may affect the ads you see elsewhere.
5. How We Use Your Data and Our Legal Bases
Under UK and EU GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for each way we use your data. In summary:
- Contract: processing your account, course access, payments and referral rewards, so we can deliver what you've purchased.
- Consent: special category data (Section 3), marketing emails you've opted into, and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the Website secure, understanding site usage via analytics, moderating community spaces for member safety, and improving the Services, balanced against your right to privacy.
- Legal obligation: keeping financial records for tax and accounting purposes.
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the third parties who help us run Pathfinder, on the basis that they only use it for the purposes we specify:
- Kajabi: our all-in-one hosting, checkout, email and community platform, which processes most of the data described in Section 2.
- Stripe / PayPal (via Kajabi's checkout): to process payments.
- Google Analytics: for website usage analytics.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram): for advertising and conversion tracking via the Meta Pixel.
- Professional advisers, such as our accountant or solicitor: where necessary for our legal and financial obligations.
- Authorities: where we're required to by law, or to protect someone's safety in a genuine emergency.
We do not share special category data (Section 3) with advertisers or analytics providers beyond the aggregate, non-identifying level needed to run the Services.
7. Community Spaces
Posts, comments and profile information you share inside community spaces are visible to other members of that space (and, for public-facing groups such as Eyes Wide Open, potentially a wider audience). This is different from the confidential handling described elsewhere in this policy, so please consider what you're comfortable sharing publicly, particularly identifying details about yourself or third parties.
8. International Data Transfers
Some of our providers (including Kajabi, Google and Meta) are based in, or transfer data to, the United States and other countries outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK and EU data protection law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an approved data transfer framework, to protect your data.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We'll respond within one month. As Pathfinder is based in France, our lead supervisory authority is the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des LibertƩs). If you're based in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or to your own country's data protection authority if you're elsewhere in the EU.
10. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account and course data: for as long as you hold an account, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case you return or for legal/accounting purposes.
- Payment records: as required by tax and accounting law (typically 6–7 years).
- Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or after a period of inactivity.
- Special category data: reviewed and deleted when no longer needed for the purpose you shared it, or on request.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We rely on Kajabi's platform-level security, together with our own access controls, to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the data involved, particularly the special category data described in Section 3.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new tools, legal requirements, or how we operate. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date, and where changes are material, we'll make reasonable efforts to let existing members know by email.
14. Contact Us
